It's all quiet on the Joran front today. No new statements by the parties involved. Except for de Vries' production company, which let everyone know he's reached agreements with Larry King and Inside edition. Oprah is apparently out of the picture.
Joran van der Sloot has siad, thorugh his lawyers that he's talking to the police and is fully cooperating this time. They have been appraised of his location. Meanwhile, they're investigating who 'Daury' is and what he did exactly. If he confirms part of van der Sloot's confession, van der Sloot can be arrested in Holland.
The whole thing is dying down again, waiting for a trial. Most of the quality newspapers and state-sponsored TV programs have already used the case a launching pad for complaining about having to compete with commercial stations for the common denominator, due to the government's semi-privitisation initiatives. Or that the police and the prosecutors should have entrapped Joran himself, conveniently forgetting that van der Eem offered his services to the police first.
Van der Eem (34)gave an exclusive interview with de Telegraaf today where he claims to have been disgusted with van der Sloot, and that he hung up on him after van der Sloot called him in tears after the show last Sunday. Van der Eem, a father of two and a businessman, managed to convince Joran that he was a major drugdealer and that he had paid work for van der Sloot.
On last notable bizarre detail is the medical expert Dr. Ernst Stolz claiming that Natalee might have died due to a rare allergy to prostate fluid. It's an extremely rare condition with fewer than six reported cases a year in Europe, but it presents with the symptoms that van der Sloot described.

LOL, so the good doctor who claims Natalee had a reaction to prostrate fluid now wants to go back to what Beth originally said (that Natalee was a virgin) which all of Aruba screamed and yelled was a lie and say that Natalee decided to give her virginity to Joran whom she'd met just a few hours earlier and hardly talked with on a beach in Aruba!
Is there anyone who will stop making excuses for Joran and realize this kid is a liar, a rapist and a murderer. His whole life is spiraling down hill while everyone makes excuses for him and tries to relieve him of responsibility.
Can anyone say: Brittney Spears?

I just want to thank you and Patrick van der Eem for doing whatever it took to show Joran's true character~or, I should really say lack of character. I have always thought from day 1 when I noticed his arrogance, that be was a classic narcissistic sociopath and only sees himself as a victim. I felt his sadness when I watched his tears as he spoke of being a father, and the unimaginable pain of any parent found in this desperate situation. Bless you for giving the family of Natalee the peace they deserve.
I think the reason Joran didn't call an ambulance is because he gave Natalie drugs on top of the alcohol she drank. He knew they would find the drugs in her system and question where she got them. So, the scumbag had her dumped in the ocean, dead or alive, it didn't matter to him. I'm so proud of Mr. De Vries and Mr. van der Eem for seeking justice. I hope Joran is prosecuted, but if he isn't, I hope he has to live in hiding for the rest of his life. I don't think he'll ever be sorry for what he did to Natalie.
Do you think there is any truth to the video shot a few weeks ago, with the so called investigators from California, telling that Natalee did not die that night but at a later time in a house on the other end of the island?? I apologize that I don't recall their names.
Do you think the "friend " of Joran's did not dump her but took her somewhere else and she died from lack of treatment?
Ellie, thanks for the kind words, but despite our last names, I'm not related to Peter R. De Vries. I've just been blogging about the Dutch news about this case, which has been a bit more extensive than in the U.S.
No, I don't think those suppositions were very reliable. Just for the fact that they suppose a sort of conspiracy theory. It's really hard to keep that kind of secret, even on a small island like Aruba. Apparently they didn't mind not revealing the guy who dumped her body, but her being kept as a sex slave somewhere? That wasn't exactly Dr. Phil's proudest moment.
Good ole Peter, not in it for the money huh? Then why is the range rover being sold on line under the description of "Natalee Holloway's confession car"
